I needed a futon frame quickly to replace a damaged one in a vacation rental. I fully understand that sometimes these types of orders cannot be processed quickly. However the woman I spoke to at Room Doctor was extremely nice and offered to get assurances from the maker that the frame would be shipped early the following week.
I purchased a great futon bed for my son's fraternity house room at Penn State. It has a cover that is washable and looks terrific, even after one year of heavy use. Great well-made product!
I know that Room Doctor was probably not totally at fault for the delay in shipping this. However, I was given assurances on a shipping date that was not honored. I did not appreciate the manner I was treated.
Two weeks later I called and was told by the same woman that these orders sometimes take 3 weeks to process. Needless to say I was upset and I told her to cancel my order. She offered instead to check with the maker again. She called back in a not so nice voice and informed me that it would be shipped tomorrow and hung up on me.
It was easy to assemble and take apart for moving; the futon mattress was comfortable and sturdy. It is the perfect solution for a student with several moves in their future and for a parent who wants to know that their child is sleeping on a good bed.
My futon sofa is the first piece of furniture I bought for my studio. I've had it for 6 years now and it looks as good as new. I've washed the cover a few times and it looks great each time. I really appreciate the wheels, it makes it easy to move around when I set up gallery space or move big pieces into the studio.
