GNC is the only sport nutrition store in State College, so I am obligated to shop there unless I order online. If you are in a similar position, the best GNC spots are... the GNC across the street from Old Main Lawn, and the one on S Atherton St.
The GNC in Nittany Mall is terrible, and I want to recommend for others to avoid it.
I have gone in twice; the first time the employee working was condescending and constantly attempted to sell me a product that I had no interest in buying. The second time the store was completely empty. I waited and meandered around the tiny lil store for about 5-8 minutes and no one ever came out. So I left and bought my stuff online instead -- from Vitamin Shoppe, hehe.
