A fortnight past, my duties included meeting my aunts mechanic at cracker barrel for a routine car check up. When i arrived, i was ASTOUNDED by the lavish decor and first class treatment our server demonstrated. He was understanding and empathetic to the mechanics hesitation to order chicken fried chicken and immediately brought out six servings of country fried chicken, seasoned to the mechanics pleasure. When the mechanic got down on his knee and proposed to me, our server immediately began singing "rockstar" by nickleback. How did he know that was "our song"?!!??!?!
Breakfast here is very very good. Pancakes and french toast is great. Evening gets crowded but early morning breakfast is fine.
Our server then jumped into the fireplace and stoked a grand fire. We all toasted champagne glasses, provided by the restaurant to all who propose at cracker barrel.
This is truly an amazing dining facility. Sure, it may be a little 'high class' for some patrons, but not for me and my aunts mechanic.
If you are going to get married, make sure you do it here!!!
The trout was cooked properly. The chicken and dumplings my son had for the first time was good. Veggies and potato were also prepared correctly. Pecan pie was a treat. Service was good. All in all, the experience was favorable. I'd dine there again.
Great place to eat! Food is way cheaper than the other restaurants around here and is super fast, plus the people working there are always nice and helpful
This is a nice option for eating out in State College. The prices are reasonable, and the service has always been fast. Our food is always nice and hot when it comes out and is very consistent in quality. We have had great servers every time we have been here and the relaxed atmosphere is warm and inviting. They have some really neat items in the gift shop as well.
