Very nice place for downtown. The interior has a lovely layout. Some great beer on tap to choose from and the food isn't bad either.

100 beers on tap? Yes please. Great service, a big amount of bar seating and other table seating. Neat view of town (it's above Target). Food is kinda expensive for what it is, but there's some interesting combinations on the menu. If you want a place to go to try new beers, there's a lot to explore here. Granted, you're probably paying on average $7 per beer, so it's not the cheapest night out, but this also keeps some of the local riff-raff away. A little too pricey for frequent visits, but definitely recommended.

It's the first time I was ever yelled at by a server for voicing a legitimate complaint about food he never should have served to begin with. The crust was literally burned black.

My first and only review I have ever made for a restaurant. Server was extremely rude he even yelled at me for complaining about the terrible burned black on the outside and raw in the middle pizza. I was not looking for a refund nor did I ask for one.

Very large dining/bar area, with 100 beers on tap. Always fresh, food is interesting Americana with pizza from brick oven. Easy to get to from the Hyatt. Service is 50/50 have had great server and one who obviously was not trained by anyone...hopefully being new this will even out.

Their website is not up yet. I have not been able to find a manager's email to address privately. The staff needs to be trained better and make some huge, enormous improvements with attitude and service. The venue itself is super cool just staff needs a lot of work.

With a bit of difficulty finding it, 4 of us went to this Taphouse location for the first time last Sunday evening. There is absolutely NO signage outside. We were seated promptly and ordered 3 appetizers to share; the brussels sprouts, calamari and buffalo wings were good & we enjoyed them. However, 3 of us had fries with our entrees which came out looking very dark & hard, as was the fish on the fish & chips dinner. My first thought was that the oil used for frying was either not fresh or much too hot. The french dip sandwich was deemed OK and my maple chicken sandwich was bad...very dry, throughout & burned on the edges. Needless to say, we won't be returning when there are better restaurants with similar types of food in State College.

Since opening, of the 12-15 local people I have talked to about their experience at Federal Taphouse , every single one had something negative to say.
