I think the attitude of the staff is fantastic, very friendly and helpful, not condescending as can be the case with musicians-turned-clerks who think they should be world recording artists. These are good guys and want to help you.
Decent music equipment store in State College.
I am a local musician in State College, and use Music Mart for most of my supplies. Very friendly staff, have helped me choose the right product more than once. As one reviewer noted, not as cheap as online, but that is to be expected. You have to choose your experience, and frankly I'd rather support a local business.
I am classically trained on piano and self taught acoustic guitar and vocals. When I go into the store I ask questions based on my lack of experience in what I am looking for. I don't pretend to know something I don't, nor do I act like I am a famous musician. I think there is a tendency for 'guitar heroes' to act that way, and it is not well received. You get back what you put out there, so be open and you will get great service.
