I highly recommend this place. Super nice staff and great doctors that care about your animal. Definitely satisfied with my experience.
Our 15 year old dog collapsed in our living room at approximately 5:00 pm. We immediately called as an emergency and were told that we could bring him in at 7:10 pm. We asked the person on the phone if they were sure that we could be seen- if not we would take him to the Emergency Vet. We were given assurances that the vet would be able to see and treat him.
I highly recommend this vets to everyone. The staff there are very caring and responsible. I had a great time whenever I take my dog in with me!
This was the worst experience I have ever had going to the vet. I saw Dr. Mason and he practically ignored me the entire time. He told me my cat "had bad teeth" and a heart murmur and then didn't explain what that meant or what I should be doing AT ALL until I asked him for clarification. I had to practically pull out of him what he meant by bad teeth, the timeline that I needed to get the teeth fixed, what options there were, and the whole rest of it! He seemed completely unwilling to talk to me about my cat's health! I'm still not entirely sure what's wrong and I have no idea if I have the full story or not. I shouldn't have to know which questions to ask to know what's going on with my cat - when I go to the vet I expect them to tell me hey X is wrong, this is why it's happening, this is what you can do, this is the prognosis, etc! The vet tech brought me an estimate for over $700 to fix it but wouldn't even look me in the eye when she was going over it with me, and then gave me a brochure on a payment plan that she admitted she didn't know much about. I'm going to get a second opinion and I am NEVER going to this vet again.
We have been clients for almost 40 years and have been quite satisfied with our experiences for all of that time- we have had a number of dogs and cats as patients at Animal Medical Hospital. Until yesterday that is.
My wife and I were very angry and disappointed in AMH's handling of this case.
At 6:45 we received a call from AMH saying that they would not be able to see Buddy since they were running late. We ended up taking him to CP Vets and he was treated immediately but we lost almost 2 hours in getting his treatment. Fortunately he was not as bad off as we feared but a 2 hour delay in a critical case could have been disastrous.
I have been taking my dogs to AMH for over 20 years now and can't say enough good things about them. My main veterinarian has been Dr. Friedlander and he's awesome! He is knowledgeable, compassionate and caring. He has never hesitated to give me a referral to another facility if he felt that my dogs would receive a type of treatment or service that wasn't offered in State College. He has called my home on more than one occasion as a follow-up to an office visit to see how my buddy is doing. He takes his time and is never too rushed to discuss any concerns that I may have. When I had to put my last dog down, he came to my house and that meant the world to me. He is Aces in my book and you couldn't find a better Veterinarian for your best friend!
